2023 Wellbeing Highlights

We’re not shy about shouting it from the rooftops: we’re pioneering a better way of working for our team - employee health and wellbeing always comes first. And with the new year now upon us, we’re reviewing some of our 2023 wellbeing highlights and looking ahead to exciting plans to come…

A #TeamZen firm favourite was our dedicated Wellbeing Day - specifically created for us by Health and Wellness Coach and Founder of WellBe, Laura Butler.

Hosted at Alderford Lake back in sunny June, we enjoyed a variety of activities tailored to both our individual and collective needs - including: mindful breathing, meditation, and contemplative exercises; a walk around the lake; a nutritious vegan feast (including the most delicious chocolate brownies!); an ‘Escape Island’ experience; paddleboarding; and cold water swimming. Phew!

Not only was it a fantastic team building opportunity, but it provided valuable takeaways. And this is also true of the many other wellbeing initiatives we’ve participated in during the last 12 months - all designed to offer a holistic overview of ‘wellness’, all while helping the team keep their cup full.

Our self-defence class, delivered by Resilient Defence, taught us all how to protect ourselves safely and legally should we ever find ourselves in a situation needed to use it, and a sound bath experience from Healing in the Hills provided an opportunity to rest and recharge.

Plus, we’ve increased the frequency of walking meetings - and even made it competitive by starting a team challenge for National Walking Month back in May. And we’re proud to engage with Awareness Days that absolutely align with our values, such as Social Media Kindness Day, National Fitness Day, and techtimeout tuesday - where we actively encourage the team to take a break from the digital sphere.

Proud to be creating an inclusive, supportive and nurturing working environment, we also introduced a dedicated Menopause Policy.

And to end the year we sent the team for a pamper session, on us! 2023 was certainly a busy year and we know just how important it is to dedicate sufficient time to relax, meaning we're all back to work feeling refreshed, ready and raring for a prosperous 2024.
