Prosecco on a Picnic Boat - Zen turns Sweet Sixteen!

Zen is celebrating - again! July 6th marked our 16th birthday, and as part of this we’ve been reflecting on how far Zen has come since those early days when our Founder, Fliss, set up in her dining room with a vision to change the face of PR and a commitment to do things better.

Fast forward sixteen years and we’re pretty proud of how far we’ve come. We’ve built an expert team, worked with (and continue to work with) fantastic clients, and had (and continue to have) a lot of fun along the way.

Our strategic approach to working with clients means that they stay with us a long time, and continue to refer our agency to other like-minded businesses, which has enabled us to be involved in some fantastic projects both regionally and nationally. And, it also means we have resources available to dedicate at least 10% of the agency’s time each month to our pro bono work too, meaning we’re continually able to dust a little Zen sparkle on some amazing charity initiatives and local projects.

We’ve become pretty awesome at looking after our team too, having made some big decisions including completely abolishing the working week - our most radical (and successful!) yet. We’re pioneering a better way of working and strive tirelessly to encourage other businesses to do the same. And we’re incredibly proud to be at the forefront of a new business culture where employee health and wellbeing comes first.

So what better way to celebrate our sweet sixteenth than to while away the hours on another fabulous #TeamZen outing? This time we took to the beautifully scenic River Severn in Shrewsbury aboard the Sabrina picnic boat ‘Little Rea’, to be treated to some delicious nibbles and of course to raise a glass - or two - to our successes (and those who’ve supported us along the way).

We reminisced about some epic Zen memories of old, discussed our collective hopes and dreams for the future, and generally just had a wonderful few hours connecting as a team amidst tranquil waters and lush green surroundings - ‘zen’ it most certainly was!

Happy birthday to us - and here’s to the next sixteen years. We wonder what they will bring …!
