The Zen Team Bikes 250k for Charity… In Stilettos!

Today [Tuesday 8th November] we’re on the last leg of our two-day challenge to ride 250kilometres on a static bike whilst wearing stilettos, all in the name of charity. Our fab client, the Orton Group, is celebrating its 25th anniversary in business this year and it recognised the need to do something fabulous for charity, so the team pledged to raise £25,000!

What better way for the Zen team to support them by riding a whopping 250kilometres… whilst being, of course, stiletto-clad? (And while we did say that Alan, our Commercial Director, would be spared the pain, as the good sport he is he managed to give it a go – so if you want to see photo evidence, just let us know…)

The event is typically known as ‘25k in a Day’ but we wanted to make it extra challenging and upped it to 250 in two… And the five amazing charities that we’re doing this challenge for are: the Peter Pan Nursery, Guide Dogs for the Blind, MND Association, Cancer Research UK and the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Orton Group is already at £15,000, and we’d like to significantly boost this total… So please, dig deep (or shallow) if you can, and learn more about why we’re doing this challenge here... https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/ZenCommunicationsLtd

The Ever-Changing English Language: Word Trends of 2016

Whether we like it or not, our language is changing. There’s approximately one new word created every 98 minutes – that’s about 14.7 words per day. Around 1,000 of these are actually added to the Oxford online dictionary each year, with words getting removed or labelled as ‘obsolete’ on a regular basis too.
