Time to Be Kind

Today is Social Media Kindness Day. An annual awareness day, launched in honour of Caroline Flack on what would be her birthday, that encourages social media users to be mindful of their online presence, whilst reminding them that their words can have real impacts on others.

One of our core values at Zen is to #BeKind – to others and to ourselves. And so, we’re proud to be getting involved today – and everyday – in making the social sphere a kinder, safer, and more pleasant place to be.

We love words, and the power that they behold. But, we also understand that we should be very deliberate with our syntax and vocabulary choices, to always ensure our messaging lands exactly as we intend, and to never cause upset or offence. No matter where or how we communicate – whether it be in print, in person, online, or over the phone – our conversing partner should always feel safe and secure.

With social media encompassing society in every aspect of our everyday lives, we all have a responsibility to leave kind imprints online. We hope you will join us today – and everyday – in making it a kinder place to be.

The Psychology of Language: Persuasion, PR, and AI

Words matter. And at Zen, as trained grammarians, psycholinguistic and neuro-linguistic programming practitioners (think official word geeks, and proudly so!), we don’t just use words - we craft them - artfully, skilfully, with unapologetic precision. We don’t just understand what words mean, we also understand what they do. And so we know exactly which words to choose to create the most powerful psychological and emotional connection with your customers. But what is it about language that gives it the power to both inspire and alienate? Why do some words have more impact than others, why do some spark laughter whilst others bring tears?
